End of week 2....

So it is the end of week 2..... And what a week it was!! Just to think, it will not get any easier. It was challenging relearning chemistry and tissues. I was digging way back in the cob webs! It is however coming all together. Couple of things that I have learned thus far. Notecards are you best friend! In the 2 weeks, I have written well over 200 of them. And with those notecards comes memorizing them. It is overwhelming, but it is still a very rewarding feeling at the end of the day.  Other thing to keep me sane, I have been doing a lot of cardio at the gym and yes I have my notecards with me! Study and get exercise. So rewarding. I went to the Dollar Store (man I love that place) stocked up on some Back to School things. You must be a smart shopper and compare prices. Even though things are a buck, you should still check out Wally World or Target. Notecards are however been the cheapest at the Dollar Store.  One word of advice, don't and I repeat don't buy the crayons there. Yuck :( Yes, you can color in nursing school; in your assignments and study guides!

In the 2 weeks, I have diagnosed myself with a blood clot and that I produce too much mucous! I am sure I will diagnose more ailments to come. But on a serious note, I did dehydrate myself. I drink a ton of water anyway but with being so crazy with school and studying, I did note take in my normal amount. Pretty sure I replaced it with tea and coffee. So note to self: DRINK H20!!! Stay tuned to week 3 and the first exam!

Multitasking...

Bfast the most important meal of the day

Got our scrubs today!!!

I decided to start this blog while I am going to nursing school. I am hoping that it can keep my sanity during some crazy and challenging times during school.  I just started this journey last week. So it is just beginning. I want to talk about the challenges of nursing school, working, staying healthy, exercising, and other topics that come up along the way. I hear of just crazy and horrible stories of the life of a nursing student. So through this blog, I hope to keep myself in check and somewhat sane!

A little bit about me (cause you know you want to know). I am 36 years old and live in Florida. I am originally from St. Louis, MO. I started off pursuing nursing about 16 years ago. Crazy life happened and I pursued a bachelors and masters in management instead.  Nursing has always been a passion of mine and wanting to be able to help people and to save lives. I never truly felt complete with my education and had often wondered if I should go back to nursing school.  It was not really anything that was in my cards until now. I now have the most amazing support of my fiancĂ© Brian who has actually encouraged me to go to nursing school. I am a big advocate of a support system! A little something extra about me; we are getting married in November! Just to add a little extra to the mix! So this is enough for today. Have to go study A&P! Stayed tuned to this crazy, challenging, but rewarding future I will unfold.
